Using YouTube for SEO Purposes Increases Conversions And Sales, says Digital Marketer

The Statistics show that “Using YouTube for SEO Purposes Increases Conversions And Sales,” explains the Digital Marketer newsletter. When people use YouTube for SEO and get top ranking, the newsletter adds, people will greatly increase YouTube views to their videos.

YouTube is the second most highly trafficked search engine on the Internet, the newsletter reports, and Google being the top searched website on the Internet. Increase YouTube views to videos for ranking in the top spots of Google by using SEO, the newsletter explains, because the top spot of the organic rankings on Google typically gets 46% of the clicks from the page with the second spot getting approximately 13%.

When people use SEO strategies for their videos, they can rank higher in YouTube also, the newsletter explains, which will cause their videos get more views from the people that are surfing around YouTube. There are a lot of people that would rather watch a video than read text, the newsletter says, so they do their searching through videos for information they are looking for.

This holds true for people that are searching on Google also, reports the Digital Marketer newsletter. YouTube videos that rank on Google will include a thumbnail image, the newsletter reports, so when people type in keywords and see an image with all the other results on the page being text links, they will normally click on the image.

Local business can use SEO for YouTube to gain new customers, the newsletter explains, because many people are searching on their mobile phones for information about a business. Today’s marketplace is turning to the Internet for reviews, information and recommendations for local business, the newsletter states, often while in route to purchase products and services.

The Digital Marketer newsletter explains that using YouTube for Local SEO can place a business far above their competition, because if people are searching on the Internet and they find a business in the top positions for relevant keywords related to the business with testimonials about their products and services, their chances of getting a business visit or call have increased.

The recently released “YouTube Google Hack” eBook that was published by the Digital Marketer Labs, provides simple steps to follow to use YouTube for Local SEO.

Nine Indian students reach YouTube's Space Lab competition finals

Indians

Nine Indian students have made it to YouTube's SpaceLab, a global science competition that challenged 14-18 year-olds to design a science experiment that can be performed in space.

Hyderabad-based Nitya Raju, a finalist who participated in the 14-16 year-old category, said,

"My video shows a simple experiment to determine how liquids of different viscousities behave variously under microgravity. While most have seen the shapes water can assume when floating in a space shuttle, I'm curious about how the viscosity of a liquid affects its form."

Hosted by YouTube, Lenovo, and Space Adventures in cooperation with space agencies, including NASA, European Space Agency, and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, YouTube Space Lab received thousands of videos from 80 countries.
Students not only described their science experiment ideas via video, but also demonstrated and animated the procedures. The YouTube community will be invited to judge the entries, alongside judges including scientist Stephen Hawking and former astronaut Leland Melvin.

The two winners will have the experiments conducted 250 miles above earth, aboard the International Space Station (ISS) and streamed live on YouTube from a ThinkPad laptop as part of a global event celebrating science and space.

Winners will get to choose a unique space experience: A trip to Japan to watch their experiment blast off in a rocket bound for the ISS or, once they are 18, astronaut training in Star City, Russia, the training centre for cosmonauts. The winners will be decided on the basis of the judgement of the YouTube community alongside a prestigious panel of judges, including renowned scientist, Professor Stephen Hawking, NASAs Associate Administrator for Human Exploration and Operations William Gerstenmaier, NASAs Associate Administrator of Education and former Astronaut Leland Melvin, ESA Astronaut Frank De Winne, JAXA Astronaut Akihiko Hoshide and Cirque du Soleils founder Guy Lalibert.

Six regional winners (two teams from each of the three regions- The Americas, Europe, Middle-East and Africa and Asia-Pacific) will be announced in February and will gather in Washington, DC, in March to experience a ZERO-G flight and receive a Lenovo IdeaPad laptop. From them, two global winners, one from each age group, will be announced and later have their experiments performed 250 miles above Earth aboard the International Space Station (ISS) and live streamed on YouTube from a ThinkPad laptop as part of a global event celebrating science and space. Additionally, the global winners will get to choose a unique space experience as a prize: a trip to Japan to watch their experiment blast off in a rocket bound for the ISS, or once they are 18 years old, a one-of-a-kind astronaut training experience in Star City, Russia, the training center for Russian cosmonauts.

YouTube uploads hit One Hour Per Second - 4 Billions views per day

Google's YouTube now receives 60 hours of uploads per minute and 4 billion views per day, the company has claimed.

Writing in a blog post, YouTube’s managers claimed that the amount of video uploaded to the Google-owned site had grown ten-fold since 2007.

“Since the dawn of YouTube, we’ve been sharing the hours of video you upload every minute. In 2007 we started at six hours, then in 2010 we were at 24 hours, then 35, then 48, and now...60 hours of video every minute, an increase of more than 30 percent in the last eight months. In other words, you’re uploading one hour of video to YouTube every second.”
A new website, onehourpersecond.com, has been built in an attempt to visualise the volume of content uploaded over set periods of time.
The site also claimed users were “watching more as well; we’ve now exceeded four billion video views globally every day. That’s up 25 per cent in the last eight months and the equivalent of more than half the world’s population watching a video every day.” YouTube claimed the numbers were continuing to grow.
YouTube redesigned its home page late last year to emphasise its full-length movies and social network credentials. The video-sharing site, which has 800 million viewers a month is now intent on making YouTube a more central part of its audience’s lives, Robert Kynci, YouTube’s vice president of content partnerships, said at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas..
