Airtel customers face network outage in Mumbai

Customers of Bharti Airtel in the western part of Maharashtra are experiencing a service outage due to a technical glitch in the service provider's systems that cropped up.

"A technical outage has affected our network in the western region, resulting in disruption of some services. We are working toward rectifying the outage at the earliest. We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to our customers," an Airtel spokesperson told PTI.

Services are also affected in adjoining areas, including Pune, according to people close to the development.

Customers are sharing their grievances on the official Twitter account of Bharti Airtel.

According to people close to the development, it has resulted in a network problem and badly hit BlackBerry and data services provided by the company.

According to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India ( Trai), the country's largest private operator, Bharti Airtel, had a user base of 173.73 million at the end of October, 2011.

Bharti Airtel is a leading global telecommunications company, with operations in 19 countries across Asia and Africa.

The company offers mobile voice and data services, fixed line, high speed broadband and national and international long distance services.

Recently, Blackberry users faced similar outage in email transactions all over the world.

When your mobile dies? Blackberry Outage !

I dont know about you all! But, If my mobile goes to sleep for a single day, single hour, I will feel like I am dead. Thank God! I did not own a Blackberry! Now, the breaking news is "Blackberry Outage". 

Yeah! All the Blackberry users have gone back to the old era where there were no smart messaging, smart mailing, smart anything ! :P 

The outage started on Monday. Its been three days, till the issue is not solved. It seems to have began from the Middle East, Europe and Africa on Monday, then to South Africa on tuesday, finally today attacked North American people too.

On Tuesday, the company has told to the press, "messaging and browsing delays being experienced by BlackBerry users in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, Brazil, Chile and Argentina were caused by a core switch failure within RIM's infrastructure. Although the system is designed to failover to a back-up switch, the failover did not function as previously tested" [Courtesy: CNN]. Also, the release says, the problem is due to the large backlog of data and it has been taken care of by the company.

Most of the customers of Blackberry says they fell handicapped , disconnected and whatever!

Amidst all these problems, still there seem to be no announcement on when the server will be up. It may be true that Steve has gone to heavens and impressed God by telling 'iCame' with an 'iApp' for reducing your 'workload' and God has granted him a wish "May your opponents crash away! " yes, As Apple was about to release its iMessage service against the Blackberry's popular messenger service, this breakdown is a great blow to the Blackberry.
