LG has officially announced the Optimus Sol, the latest addition to its Optimus range of smartphones. Like wereported earlier today, it features a 3.8-inch WVGA display, runs on a 1Ghz processor and is based on the Android 2.3 platform. The Optimus Sol has a 5.0 MP shooter at the rear and a VGA one on the front, a 3.5mm jack and comes with an inbuilt memory 150MB which can be increased to 32GB via a microSD card. The handset will be launched first in Europe some time next month followed by subsequent roll-outs in Central and South America. The vendor has not mentioned as to when it shall hit Asian markets.
